Data and Sourcesexit
The MACHEquity Data Dashboards utilize data drawn from longitudinal policy databases compiled as part of McGill University's Maternal and Child Health Equity (MACHEquity) research program. The dashboards feature data covering the period between 1995 to 2013 and focus on 121 low and middle income countries surveyed by USAID's Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) and UNICEF's Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS).

The national-level policy data included in the dashboards were collected by the MACHEquity team primarily from national legislation, although secondary sources such as reports on policies and laws were also consulted. For more information on how the MACHEquity databases were built, please consult the Policy Data section of the MACHEquity website.

In addition to MACHEquity's own policy data, the dashboards feature supplementary data (described in the dashboards as "Comparison Data") drawn from the World Bank's World Development Indicators (WDI) database. These data are used in accordance with the World Bank's Open Data Initiative Terms of Use. More information on the World Development Indicators can be found by visiting the World Bank's Data Catalog.
